You Follow That Man

Sun, 08/10/08 12:48 P GMT-06

Silly niggas now a days do not take the time to think before they make a statement.  One that I have heard over the years that rubs me the wrong way is " Ya'll all followers...You all follow that man."  They are making reference to our Master teacher.

To follow is to imitate, obey...being a follower is synonymous with being a disciple, an adherent, a partisan if you will.

When it comes to nubian (black) folks aligning themselves with another nubian of greater knowledge or wealth; niggas will bash you and call you names.  Yet when the caucasians do it...it is called getting a good education, being productive.  See lots of negroes believe that if you go under a white man or his society then you are a responsible individual.  Truth does not have a color...it is what it is.

We should follow in facts to become on the level as the leader; so we can put aside our following ways and therefore be a leader for the next batch of followers.  It is a process of evolution.  A student going to college to be a doctor has to sit in an institution and humble himself/herself to the instructor and the lessons.  They are not at a point in their lives where they can go and be a doctor...they have to go through a method of building first.  They follow what the instructor says, they learn to reason and acquire a critical mind to the processes and information being presented.  Before they can become that doctor, that lawyer, that pastor; they must follow.  As a child you followed the rules of your elders to lead you a point where you could lead for yourself.  Being a follower is not a negative thing...it is a necessity.  Being a follower when you have reached the point of being a leader is when being a follower becomes destructive.

No man nor woman in this world has self built information.  We learn from externals, books, media and experiences.  A lot of us pick and choose what we agree with or what seems to be easiest...not so much as what is correct and incorrect for us as a people.  This mode of thinking (Picking & Choosing) is what is responsible for a large part of the confusion in our lives.  We don't know our laws,

Spiritual studies are not done to accomodate you.  You must align yourself with the disciplines and the teachings in order to attain its benefits.  The difficulty in any form of study is the opinions given.  In Islam we call the words of men HADITHS...these are the opinions of men.  It is unwise to base your life on the opinions of others.  Deal with the facts.  Therefore when you have one that has undergone the trials and tribulations on your course; it is wiser to learn from such an individual.  We all are followers before we become effective leaders.

You Are What You Are

Tis a wonderful day in the Mile High city;  86° to be exact.  Yet, I am not outside enjoying the weather nor the day.  The wife is at work, the children downstairs doing what ever they do and I am sitting here thinking for hours about the re definition of my character.  Nothing else is as important as the growth of ones self to me.  So let the day do as it does; I will do what needs to be done to grow myself.

It has been some years since I have been operating from a stable base. I acknowledge all things in life are built from a foundation.  When you have a weak foundation the structure will soon fall as the wind blows or tides come.  We all have a foundation and we are all subject to its cause and effects.  Some of us do not acknowledge it nor do some of us care; some just do what feels good for the moment.  I know this state of existence because I was there for the past 3 years.  Running to and from desires and adversities.  Feeling not quite myself.  Sliding down to demon, man, even at some point beast.  Due to an effect.  The effect of taking away of my Master Teacher and our land.

An event that I could not forsee with these human eyes.  I was devestated when I heard of his arrest and crushed inside my soul when I heard the charges.  Yet, deep inside I know and knew that it was not true (Largely due to a dream I had months & months before this all took place) I know he is innocent.  I didn't need to hear the witnesses recant their statement or justify why they lied.  I already knew.  Yet I was shook because the greatness of this man was destroyed within days.  His name ruined.  I have sat back and watched many of us brothers and sisters stray away, lead new lives, and outright disrespect the doctrine/orders and members.  I lost me in all of this.  Allowing the confusion and the media to seperate me from the essence that dwells within me.  All that I built with these 2 hands, 2 feet and this mind...I allowed to be destroyed.

Through the constant disappointments that I kept running into, I began to think more and more.  I began to meditate.  One cannot run from their essence.  What you have built to this very moment is you.  Nothing more nothing less.  We all have many facades and states of minds that we cycled through trying to find that right fit.  Yet through all changes and confusion; you can identify a time throughout your existence when things felt right.  When you didn't have to try to be...you were you and you were harmonious with it.
I am a Nuwaubian Moor, a Kosmosan, a true egiptian.  Thus titles to classify me into a group; yet in essence I am that I am.  There is no more time for playing; our situations on this planet are getting worst.
